BOOK DRIVE
“ You can share your love of reading with the others. Don’t just buy a book, donate one too.”
We at Cumming Dental Smiles organized a book drive in May 2023 called “ Give Kids A Book”. Thank you so much to our patients, team and neighbors who donated more than 500 books. We are able to donate those books to local schools, Public Libraries and Schools in India.
This Idea started when Dr.Gudipati asked his two kids to donate the books they are not reading to donate to someone less fortunate, to his surprise they gave more than 20 books. This sparked the idea of collecting books from our own team member kids, neighbors and our own awesome patients which got us to more than 500 children books to distribute.
Dr.Gudipati went to India for a family vacation in May 2023 and donated two big suitcases full of books to local elementary school kids. Books are expensive in India and the gift of these books help the school kids with learning, entertainment and happiness. Dr.Gudipati said he saw a great joy in their eyes when the kids got a book they can have for themselves.
We believe donating books gives the gift of learning, helps underprivileged and recycling helps the environment. Thanks again to our wonderful team and all our awesome patients who donated and made this event a great success.

CUMMING DENTAL SMILES BLOOD DRIVE 2022
JULY 25TH 2022
TAMA (Telugu Association of Metro Atlanta) and Cumming Dental Smiles, in association with Life South Community Blood Centers organized a Blood Drive on Monday, 25th July at Cumming Dental Smiles premises, Cumming, Georgia. Dr.Gudipati is always a frontrunner, when it comes to charity and helping people. Blood donation helps in saving many lives and is much essential to the community. Blood Drive was there for about 7 hours, starting at 8AM to 3 PM. It is heartening to note that around 75 lives will be saved from this Drive. More than 15 people including Dr.Gudipati and his wife donated blood in this event. We appreciate all the donors for time and donation.
Ms. Loren Shroyer and her LifeSouth team made sure donors are comfortable before and after giving blood. They were amazed to see the huge response and appreciated all the efforts. Though it is a working day, many people have come forward to this noble cause. Some of them were asked not to donate, for reasons like, less Hemoglobin, medical history, travel etc. TAMA team, Dr. Praveen Gudipati and his team worked on the necessary arrangements and logistics to execute the Drive smoothly.

GIVE KIDS A SMILE EVENT
FEBRUARY 2022
Thank you all for making our 6th Annual Give Kids A Smile event a great success. Our doctors, hygienists and assistants and front office team worked hard and helped many kids from Cumming, Alpharetta and surrounding areas, aged 2-12 years providing free dental care including X-Rays, Dental Exam, Dental Cleaning, Dental Sealants. We handed Free toothbrushes and toothpastes.
We get so much happiness in serving the community and giving back every year by this great event. We are Give Kids A Smile supporter since 2018. This is a nationwide event launched in 2013 started by American Dental Association. The vision for this event is to ensure access to quality oral healthcare for all children. To date, over 7 million underserved children have received free oral health services through this program.

Cumming Dental Smiles is proud to participate in the Toys For Tots Event and is one of the Official drop off site for Toys. This is our 3rd Year doing this awesome event. The Toys For Tots program run by the US Marine corps Reserve which distributes toys for children whose parents cannot afford to buy them gifts for Christmas. We collected more than 50 toys and gave it to the event. We thank all our team members, neighbors and patients who came and donated toys for this event.

ORAL HYGIENE KIT DONATIONS

Project No Bounds is making hygiene kits this month to give to Envision Atlanta, an organization dedicated to assisting refugees and their families living in Clarkston, GA. The kits contain personal hygiene items (soap, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, hand sanitizer, and face masks) as well as dental hygiene items (toothbrushes, toothpaste, and dental floss).
We donated 50 Oral Hygiene kits which includes Toothbrushes, Toothpastes and Dental Flosses.

HALLOWEEN CANDY DONATIONS

Cumming Dental Smiles exceeded expectations at this year’s annual Halloween Candy Buy Back Event collecting more than 500 pounds of Halloween Candy!
Every year our office participates in this great event in which we accept donations or buy back candy from trick-or-treaters to send to a non-profit organization Operation Shoebox. They in turn use the candy to create Christmas care packages that are sent out to troops serving our country overseas. We collected the candy at our Cumming Dentist office for two weeks after the Halloween visiting neighborhoods around Cumming area and through facebook campaigns, reached out to lot of folks in Cumming.
It was great pleasure this year as Dr.Praveen Gudipati went to Operation Shoe Box Head Office in Belleview, Florida and donated the candy and letters for troops. He met wonderful and dedicated volunteers at Operation Shoe Box. Under the leadership of Mary Harper, the organization is doing an awesome job to collect and send care packages to our brave soldiers.

We are so glad to see this overwhelming response from everyone, in the midst of everything going on, still wanting to donate the candy to show our gratitude to our troops.

OCTOBER 2021
BOULDER DASH,
Cumming Dental Smiles is a proud sponsor of 2021 BOULDER DASH 5K/10K Race EVENT which was held on Saturday October 16th. We had a 10×10 tent and one 8 ft. table at the Fall Festival and we met so many new friends and our existing patients. We gave away lot of goody bags with oral hygiene kit, which includes a toothbrush and toothpaste and floss. Most of our team including doctors, dental assistants and dental hygienists volunteered for this event.
The course winds through an active quarry, offering participants views of the working quarry face, ancient rock deposits, and massive equipment used to process, move and manage the rock. At the finish line, the Martin Marietta Fall Festival awaits, with Exhibitor/Team Tents and lots of fun for racers and spectators alike. Sponsor generosity combines with race registration fees to make this event a great fundraiser in the Forsyth county community.

AUGUST 2021
TAMA FREE CLINIC 5K WALK
It has been a great pleasure to be an ELITE SPONSOR for this great event. More than 200 people did the 5K walk in Newton Park in John’s Creek, Alpharetta on August 1st 2021.
TAMA Free clinic gives free medical and dental counseling for visiting parents and students from India and uninsured people. Multiple volunteers and doctors give their time for the clinic. It was great pleasure that Dr.Praveen Gudipati is the only dentist who is offering Free consultation to TAMA Clinic patients since 2018 and helped more than 200 patients.
The whole team of Cumming Dental Smiles and the kids participated in the event. Donated Oral Hygiene kits to 200 people along with tote bags.

Toiletry Drive For Easter Missions
Cumming Dental Smiles has teamed up with volunteers from Pinecrest Academy and St.Bernard’s Catholic Church Outreach Program to bring oral hygiene kits made up of toothbrushes and toothpastes to community here in Cumming who are in need of everyday necessities.
Sincere thanks to all who helped with our toiletry drive for our Easter Missions. Because of YOU, we delivered hundreds of items to nearby trailer parks as well as organizing a central location where needed families could come and select what they needed.

GIVE KIDS A SMILE EVENT AT CUMMING DENTAL SMILES, CUMMING DENTIST OFFICE
Give Kids a Smile 2021 was a great success despite COVID-19 pandemic. We are so honored to help the FORSYTH COUNTY and CUMMING kids.
This is our 2nd Annual Give Kids A smile Event at CUMMING DENTAL SMILES. February is a National Children’s Oral Health Month and we promote the benefits of good oral health to children and their caregivers this whole month.
The Awesome team of dental professionals including dentists, hygienists, assistants and front office participated in this wonderful event.
We are able to serve several children on February 24th 2021 with Free Dental Examination, Dental X rays, Teeth cleaning, Topical application of fluoride, Oral hygiene instructions and gave toothpaste and toothbrushes.
We are very thankful for the Forsyth county and CUMMING city kids for giving us the opportunity to serve our community.
We would like to appreciate our team of dentists, hygienists, assistants and other volunteers for giving their time and talents to ensure that children are given the dental care they need and deserve all across the Forsyth county.

CUMMING DENTAL SMILES NOMINATED FOR FORSYTH COUNTY IMPACT AWARDS
Over the course of the COVID-19 Pandemic I have been able to hear and witness the generous donations and accommodations that this dental office has set forth in our community during these hard times. Cumming Dental Smiles has gone above and beyond in offering their services and time to help the community with small gestures that go a long way.
When the Pandemic first started Cumming Dental Smiles hand packaged over 100 care packages and delivered them to a local outreach to be distributed to the needy and elderly when stores were closed and it was not safe to be out and about. These care packages were made up of water, snacks, and canned goods to keep them healthy during those hard times.
Not stopping there they then donated ear savers to our frontline workers at the local Forsyth hospitals so that during the long hours and hectic days they would be experiencing due to the pandemic they could comfortably wear those already uncomfortable respirators and masks. They also donated gloves and masks to surrounding subdivisions to help prevent the spreading of COVID-19 during the pandemic.
During this time they also made sure anybody in need of dental care while all the offices were mandated close still had access to doctor care. Patients were able to do virtual consults at no charge so that pain and infections were not left unattended to. They ended up doing over 100 free consultations helping so many people in the Forsyth Community.
These are just a few of the amazing ways this small dental practice in our community has reached out and went above and beyond to really impact our citizens during the pandemic.
Cumming Dental Smiles has not only supported our community during the Pandemic but all year round they dedicate their time to helping others within our community. They have partnered with Smiles for Kids to bring a day of free dental care to children in the community who don’t usually have access to the care they need, They also participated in Freedom Day for Veterans and family members where they did complimentary exams, x-rays and treatment for our local veterans and their immediate family. They do a yearly free dentistry day to reach out within the community to people who need dental care but may not have the funds to do the treatment. They also are connected with the Dental Lifeline Network who provides patients who are in need of dental treatment and are limited in funds.
On top of helping during the COVID-19 pandemic with all their kind gestures and community involved activities they also yearly participate in other programs that not only help our community but others around our country such as Toys for Tots and a Halloween Candy Buy Back to send candy to our troops overseas. Cumming Dental Smiles is a great example in my opinion of how all of our small businesses can with just a small amount of time and effort really make a difference in the lives of our community members.

Cumming Dental Smiles under the leadership of Dr.Gudipati provided free X rays , exam, extraction or filling service for our veterans. Freedom Day USA is America’s Largest Military Thank You Event! One day each year, businesses say “Thank You” by providing a token of appreciation (Free Services, Free Gifts, Special Offers and More) to Active Military and their Immediate Family and to Veterans who visit their business on event day. This is our way of showing you how grateful we are for your service and for the sacrifices you have made for our freedom. In fact, Freedom Day USA is a “DAY OF FREE, FOR A LIFETIME OF FREEDOM!”
MAY 2020: Cumming Dental Smiles Response to COVID-19
At Cumming Dental Smiles, we came together as a community during this pandemic crisis and helped the people in need. We wanted to do our part by keeping our community safe and healthy.
We donated head bands to the local hospital systems.
We donated 100 free dental consults on phone during the shutdown getting patients out of pain and infections.
Donated Gloves and masks to surrounding subdivisions to prevent COVID-19 spread.
Donated groceries to the needy.
Donated care packages for elderly so they don’t have to go shopping.

GIVE KIDS A SMILE 2020
It was a great success this year with “Give Kids A Smile”. We served underserved children of Cumming and surrounding towns of Forsyth County on February 28 th, 2020. We are doing this event since multiple years and every year we do it in February, which is Children’s Dental Health Month.
Give Kids A Smile is a national program launched by American Dental Association to serve underserved children. Dental Caries is the most prevalent childhood disease which causes pain, swelling, missing school.
In this event we did Free X -Rays, Exam, Oral Health Education, Fluoride and Cleaning for kids aged from 2 to 12 years.
Cumming Dental Smiles appreciates the team who generously served the patients along with Volunteers from the community. We also thank Henry Schein for sending us the supplies.

Awesome Response by Cumming Community for the Halloween Candy Buy Back Program
Cumming Dental Smiles.Troops Letters
Dr. Praveen Gudipati, dentist at Cumming Dental Smiles, recently accepted candy donations for the “Halloween Candy Buy Back”. His inspiration for participating this Halloween was due to his two beautiful daughters in elementary school. “I see that my kids collect more candy than they could eat or should I let them eat! Out of necessity to take too much candy out of their diet and to do some good with the candy, I found this awesome charity organization called Halloween Candy Buy Back,” stated Dr. Gudipati.
Halloween Candy Buy Back encourages kids around America to donate their Halloween candy to give to troops overseas. Two organizations that will be receiving the donations from our office are Move America Forward and Operation Shoebox. This charitable event is an awesome way to support our troops and reduce the consumption of sugars by our children. Cumming Dental Smiles collected over 350 pounds of candy from local schools, subdivisions, and neighbors.
This charitable event also allowed the team to teach their children of the sacrifices the troops make for our freedom in America. In addition, the Cumming Dental Smiles team encouraged participants to write letters to the American troops. Troops stationed outside of the United States will receive the candy along with the letters during Christmas time. The team at Cumming Dental Smiles hopes this gives the troops a small reminder of home this festive season and shows how much we appreciate them for continuously keeping us safe.
BLESSINGS IN A BACKPACK
Blessings in a Backpack is a program that provides food for the elementary and middle school children who otherwise would go hungry on the weekend. The children are given a backpack of food to take home each weekend during the school year.
A local chapter of the organization was started by Lambert High School students and we did our first drive on 09/19/19 at Sharon Elementary School with my kids. We are very happy to help the Blessings in a Backpack and we will do more every month and year. Please drop off at our office any of these items and we will take it to the School to distribute the food.
